WHAT DOES AN INTERIOR DESIGNER DO EXACTLY?
We wear many hats, usually all at once. Sure, we can advise you on the "fluffy stuff" like curtains and throw pillows but we do so much more. We have experience with contractors and project management. We can create floor plans, custom furniture designs, lighting and electrical plans. We coordinate with different vendors such as cabinet makers, plumbers, and electricians. We have knowledge of design standards and building codes. We know what's available in the market as we're constantly sourcing new materials and furniture every day. If it's on the inside of your building, an interior designer does it. From floor to ceiling. Every fixture, finish, material, fabric, wall location, everything (!!!) is handled by an interior designer. If we don't have the extensive knowledge already, we'll research and come up with a well-informed solution for all your design problems. We also provide guidance through-out your project.
HOW DO I KNOW IF THEY'RE RIGHT FOR ME?
Hiring an interior designer is a lot like dating. We'll be working in a close relationship for sometimes years at a time so it's important that we get along. Our initial meeting will help us both to feel each other out. When you know, you know and if doesn't feel just right, we'll part ways with no hurt feelings.
I'VE NEVER WORKED WITH A DESIGNER BEFORE...
With years of experience on an array of different projects [new construction, total renovations, consultations to name a few], I am able to help you save valuable time an money by making sure we avoid costly mistakes. I can hold your hand and guide you through the process to turn your project from daunting and confusing to down right fun! Once you see how easy it makes everything, you'll never go back.
WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE WHAT THEY'VE SELECTED?
Even though we'll have a long discussion about what you want, sometimes your desires get lost in translation. As long as you're honest and open about it, things can be re-selected and there's no hurt feelings. I'm not a mind reader and no one is perfect so sometimes it takes a few tries! It's all part of the design process.
I WANT TO CUSTOM BUILD A HOUSE. CAN YOU HELP ME WITH THAT?
YES! This is one of my favorite things to do. Having done this many times before, I am able to bring my experience with design solutions, problem solving, and project management saving you time an money! This can be such a daunting task and you'll want someone working as your liaison throughout the project.

I can help you create a floor plan for your existing furniture or help you come up with a game plan on what to buy.
I'M TRYING TO SELL MY CURRENT HOUSE...
Nothing drives me crazier than seeing a listing where the house has so much potential but the paint colors or maybe some clutter make that hard to see. Easy things to fix can be distracting and actually drive away potential buyers keeping the selling cost lower than you deserve. Usually, a simple paint color consultation will do the trick. While we're together, we can also go over the furniture placement for the biggest impact and which accessories to keep or ditch for the photos.
CAN I AFFORD AN INTERIOR DESIGNER?
My motto is "good design is meant for everyone" so YES -- you can. There are options available to work within every budget. Everyone deserves a well-designed home, at any price point. Doesn’t need to cost a million dollars to look like it.
HOW DO I ACQUIRE FURNITURE AND FURNISHINGS FOR MY HOME?
This really depends on how in-depth you want your involvement to be during the process. I can provide you an itemized shopping list for you to purchase on your own or I can do all of the purchasing for you while you sit back and the white glove deliveries arrive to your home.

CAN YOU MOVE WALLS?
Yes. We can help you create your perfect space and some direction for your contractor. Figuring out how to make your space work for your needs is one of my favorite puzzles to solve. Sometimes though, we'll require the help of an architect if we need to file with the building department or you're doing extensive renovations.
